Brant & Trudy....Dinners nice but voting is more important.
Do what you can to be there by 9:am Saturday to vote for CBF Pres.
Outboard must have representation on the CBF board because there is so few of us compared to inboard memberships.
We would fall off the radar screen if Tom doesn't get elected.
There is no one else running for a board position that represents outboard members.
Tom Utman has raced inboard and outboard and would make an excellent President representing both divisions.
In the past we always recieved an email or letter with the convention ticket information.
I never recieved anything this year and have been asking on different threads on this forum what the ticket details are with no reply.
Today I found out it's on the CBF website and no one is being informed about it.
It says you have till the 6 November to apply for your tickets.
That's today!!!!!
Crap and more crap in my mind.
That oversite on the part of CBF is in contradiction of CBF by-law rule # 425. "Notice of all meetings of the Federation shall be sent to every representative and to all members of record and in good standing. Notice of special meetings shall state the purposes for which they are called, and no other business shall be in order at such meetings."
I bring your attention to the first sentence in that rule...."Notice of all meetings of the Federation .............etc.
I am sending in mine and Jaynes today for the meetings only ($10.00) and I pity anyone who says I am too late to attend.
I will bring the house down if that happens, so to speak.
It seems we are the last to know anything going on at the Federal Level and I and Jayne will be there to vote for Tom in hopes of correcting the lack of communication between CBF and the outboard members.
Oh and the hotel, it's all booked now!
Seems every year by the time we know where the convention is and the hotel all the rooms are booked already!
Funny eh? No not really. Damn sad really.
Jim & Jayne
If it wasn't for Glen posting the link for convention details himself on the CBF announcement page, 2 Nov., none of the new outboard members would know where or what the convention was about.
Thanks Glen.

Hey Jim,
I rec'd the mass email and so did Andrew, I'm sure it was just caught by a junkmail filter or your old email address, did you notify head office that you address is @live.ca not sympatico? Torcracing.ca has you as sympatico, i didn't even know your address changed until Andrew mentioned it last week.
Glen put up when and where back in Sept and i think the mass email was early Oct. or late Sept.
I think CBF did it's fair job on communication and shouldn't be bashed for their efforts.

PS: Note on the cbf website says:
Please Don’t forget to bring your CBF membership card ( Plastic )
It will accelerate voting procedure and our meetings will be more efficiency.
It’s important to attend at the Convention to vote and to elect your candidate as President and your Class Representative.

Hi All,
Trudy and I are hoping to be early. For voting, meetings etc.. At moment, prior engagement for Saturday A.M. means Trudy would not have lift for the afternoon or evening to meet up.
I know every vote counts. We're trying to rearrange and make it for early A.M. Saturday.
See ya's soon.

Maybe there's a problem with my email address on their members mailing list(s)
I do all the sanctions, insurance, club memberships etc. for Torc and Lise and I communicate every couple weeks about one thing or another.
So I assumed they have the proper email address.
APBA has it right!
I'll check again with Lise.
Jim.

Great Trudy, It'll be nice to see you & Brant again.
This will be the first convention that I haven't been there for the 3 days and part of the committee since 2001.
I made a concious decision to concentrate my abilities at the club level only a year ago, and it's worked better for me and the club since.
But when an important vote comes up I am always there.
We have soo much on our plate this month that we're taking a break from the 3 day convention this year to save money and nerves!
Next year we'll be there for the 3 days again.
Looking forward to 2010 racing season. It's going to be a good one.

Arrangements made. We'll be there early Saturday A.M
Other good news. We've contacted PeeWee. He's also going to show up for meetings and vote.
He and Carol will be staying for diner, awards, party as well.
However at the DaysInn. Apparently just a short walk away. So if anyone needs a room, try there.

We've stayed at that Day's Inn.
Short distance away.
Smoking rooms available unlike Brock Hotel.
Clean with internet now.
